It's been over a month since I wrote anything on this blog. I've also managed to gain 4 lbs in that month... well, in the last week actually. The rest of the month I stayed the same.
I haven't been posted because I haven't been trying.
I had my physical 2 weeks ago. I got a referral to the fertility clinic to get working on baby #2 and also a referral to a clinic here in the city that is for chronic health problems and weight issues. I have zero health problems but the weight, well, that's definately an issue.
If you can believe the fertility clinic called me SIX DAYS after my doctor visit. I was in total shock. Last time I waited 6 months for them to call and set up an appointment. I was expecting to have more time to drop some weight before getting pregnant. I was initially hoping to be down to 220 lbs before then. Then came the news that my doctor was giving up her family practice. I managed to get in for a physical but I hadn't originally been planning on asking for a referral until late May/early June and then expecting it to take at least another 6 weeks before I was called. So now I'm looking at trying for another baby a good 6 months sooner than I'd planned.
Time to get it in gear people! I have maybe 6 weeks left before I'm officially trying to conceive again. While I started my last pregnancy at this weight, I was hoping to be smaller next time.
6 weeks.
It must be done.

The same.
I neither gained nor lost this week.
I'm fine with that.
I ate pretty much whatever I wanted over the long weekend and didn't track anything.
I made an appointment with my family doctor for a physical in May. I plan to ask for a referral to the fertility clinic again at that point. I'd like to be below 250 before then (12 weeks). I figure after that point I'll have a minimum of 6 weeks before I get a call from the clinic to make an appointment (apparently returning patients get bumped up the list. I waited 6 months last time). I expect it to be 4 weeks from that point before I see the doctor, another month or so before I get all the tests done and can try to conceive again.
By my calculation I have about 26 weeks before I start trying for another baby. That should be plenty of time to lose a decent amount of weight before I'm pregnant again.

Official Weigh In
-4 lbs
Yeah, not really much to say beyond that.
Thinking about booking a vacation.
Thinking about having another baby.
Thinking I need to lose weight before I do either. The plane wasn't too comfortable last time and it was only an hour long flight... then I have moments of realization like I had yesterday when I put on the only dress pants I had that fit when I went back to work after maternity leave in August... I've lost TWENTY pounds since then. Needless to say the pants were a little big...

Like a pig!
Sweating that is.
I just finished the "Biggest Loser: Cardio Max" dvd... well level one of it and I definitely worked hard. I did try the Jillian Michaels: 30 day shred the other day as well. My rib cage was sore for 2 days afterward. And I definitely need a better sports bra. Even better I need a sports "whole body sucker-inner". Let's just say my boobs weren't the only thing bouncing around.
I liked them both but I really do like Bob better. Plus I would rather do cardio over abs anyday (if you don't have it the "Shred" workout does 3 minutes strength, 2 minutes cardio and 1 minute abs... and then repeats twice on level 1). I haven't tried the "Biggest Loser: Power Sculpt" yet.
Ultimately, I would like to exercise 4-5 days a week. I'm thinking I may try doing each of the dvd's once a week and the elliptical the other days. That should give me a good variety.
I had my first weight watchers weigh in today... I'm pretty happy. I'll let you know the official numbers for the week Thursday.

Better
The past 4 days have been much better. That's not to say they've been perfect but one bad meal in 4 days is much better than one or two bad meals a day... plus brownies, chocolate, etc. I'm over in my points for the day but I'll be fine once I use some flex...
The scale is showing me down the two pounds I gained last week so that makes me very happy. I got my BL workout and 30 day shred DVD's so I'm going to break out one of them tonight after the boy is in bed and give it a shot.

(Help) I've fallen and I can't get up
Well, the time has come. I have been eating total crud for days. The scale is showing me up two pounds so far this week (it won't be official until Thursday). I'm having a hard time right now. That's where the help comes in. I've been doing this on my own and doing okay but I feel like I've hit the wall as they say.
It's time to get some help. So today I joined weight watchers. I'm not sure how long I'll go but for now I'm going to commit to a month (I'm trying not to spend money right now). At minimum I wanted to hear about the new program. Nothing earth shattering there. I'm hopeful that the accountability of getting weighed in (by someone other than myself) will boost my motivation a bit and get me back on track.

1+1+1... = 52
It's official, I had another 1 lb loss this week. Sometimes I start to get frustrated because frankly I WOULD like to lose 20 lbs in one week rather than 5 months. Then I remind myself that it took me years to put on the weight so I shouldn't expect to lose it in a month.
1+1+1.... = 52 lbs in a year. That's not too shabby. At that rate it would take me 2 1/2 years to lose the weight but I know if I keep plugging away at it eventually I'll get there.
I got an email confirmation late this afternoon saying that my exercise dvd's have been shipped. That makes me pretty happy since the projected delivery date when I ordered last Saturday was somewhere between February 12th -18th. I picked up an inexpensive dvd player tonight to put in the basement. I only had a vcr down there so now I'm set to go as soon as they arrive. YAY!
